Nostalgia... Roll on those old photo's......

Hi Ya. Just checking out the site. Always wanted a GT550 back in 1976 but ended up with a GT380A.
Please find a couple of Nostalgic pictures fron 1977.

My girlfriend (and wife today) with my GT380. Like the riding gear. Some mates with another GT380. Some of these have been in the CMM magazine.
Presently I have an 1976 RD400.

Sorry to hear about the bump. Strangely enough I have never ridden an LC, only ever had aircooled - RD's. I did buy a 9000 miler CX500 the other day for £35. Been stood for 20 years. Fresh battery and fuel and it started after 5 seconds cranking.

The Aircooled club has a weekend rally at Ashbourne in Derbyshire on the 7/8/9 July. Bands and a rideout. Over 130 twostrokes on the road last year for the run to Matlock.

Any of you GT boys who wanna come are most welcome

Have you forgotten the little RAM air 125?

I had a GT185 back in 1981 - bought it a week before my 18th birthday

1981_GT185.jpg (51322 bytes)

for £120 - despite my Dad keeping on saying "Mark, wait till after your birthday" so I went out on it the night before my birthday and got really drunk - then went to impress this girl everyone fancied
Louise? by doing Mad Max style wheel spins all over her front lawn (I think her Dad was impressed, he shouted something!) - then took off up the road on the back wheel and took my hand off the bars to do a victory sign as I changed into second gear - all this bravado coupled with around 8 pints of Newcastle brown caused minor control loss and I rode straight into the nearest lamp post - ended up hanging in a hedge by my feet with a 6 inch gouge down the side of my helmet and the sleeve ripped off my jacket - remarkably the only broken thing was the bike - her neighbour saw me hit the lamp post and came out to help me wheel the bike onto his drive - the handle bars were twisted 90 degrees and the wheel was smashed to bits... So I get £100 from my parents for my birthday and borrow £40 off a mate and go and buy GT200-X5 wheels and fork legs the next day from a bike breakers in Ringwood and have it fixed in time to go to the pub the following night... Pictured here with a 2 into 1 that made it sound like a
Z1000 revving to 16,000 revs - with me wearing a new helmet and jacket and pouring HP sauce on the petrol tank...

Sold shortly afterwards for £140 which I used to buy this GT380 from same person I bought the 185 from.

Fitted with a Honda CJ360T tank - home made 3 into 1 - home made seat - and Z900 tail fin (all from same breaker in Ringwood) - currently building a MK II version instead of my previously planned GT550 - and also contemplating putting a Suzuki triple into a mini chopper - pictures soon

Best
